Cumbria Steam Gathering at Flookburgh

This weekend it was full steam ahead to the Cumbria Steam Gathering at Flookburgh. A bustling event with more than a thousand steam vehicles from all over the world. Saw all sorts of vintage transport – tractors, motorcycles, cars, bicycles and of course steam tractions engine. After a while headed away from the noise and took in some of the Punch & Judy and magic shows, and an amazing display of gymnastics – those guys make rolling over cattle grids look easy! Turned down the opportunity to learn to drive a tractor – after all, that’s what farmers are for – and finished off the day with a couple of turns down the huge wooden helter skelter.
